In January I started working out. I would do a 3 mile aerobics dvd which included arm, leg, and ab strength training (3-5 times a week). BUT even though I was exercising, I still thought I could get away with eating pizza three meals a day. Regardless of how much I exercised, I still felt bad. My body was sore from working out but my energy level didn't change. So as I started to realize this, I made an effort to change up how I was eating.
Breakfast:
Frozen waffles with a little syrup. Or Special K cereal. Sometimes toast and scrambled eggs. With a cup of juice.
Lunch:
I have a salad or a tuna sandwich. Salad is usually with cheese, croutons, cucumbers, italian dressing, and slices of pepperoni or grilled chicken strips. If I don't put meat in my salad, I'm more than likely not gonna last until supper. Which results in binging on junk food. I put a little mayonnaise in my tuna along with chopped up pickle, on toasted wheat bread. I drink water with mostly all my meals. I can't emphasize this enough. Drinking soda makes you feel bloated, and not to mention, if you are trying to cut back the calories, it doesn't help. Sometimes I drink Gatorade when I need my potassium, and sweet tea... because hey! ..I'm southern.... it's in my dna. :) 95% of the time though, I drink WATER.
Supper:
It's always at least one veggie (green beans, corn, butter beans, or squash)...a serving of meat (usually chicken) and bread. I love bread. I will never cut that out of my diet. Lol Also, the occasional macaroni and cheese or some kind of casserole.
*******Another thing I forgot to mention. Limit how much you eat out. You are almost guaranteed to over eat when at a restaurant. And don't even kid yourself. You aren't "just going to get a salad." You are gonna order those loaded cheese fries AND onion rings. And for dessert you are gonna get a slice of peanut butter cheesecake. Oh but wait. You are still eating a salad as your main meal so....you're fine! #negative lol. We all think like this. But the best way to avoid this is not eating out as much. Some of you may have to because of your busy schedules and you don't have time to cook etc. The thing to remember though is.... having a healthy body requires you to change your life. This requires hard work and self control.
~~~~~Let's not forget to honor Jesus with our everyday lives.....do your best for Him and be your best for him.
"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
